Opinion polls suggest that the more likely winner is Seaga's arch rival, Michael Manley. Views on the elections are canvass from persons in Jamaica and in Britain from persons with connections to Jamaica. Commodity analyst, Robin Stainer reports on the first meeting of the year for the International Cocoa Organisation. The organization has a deficit of some $75 million dollars (US). While consumers were paying their duties to maintain the organization, the producers refused. England's cricketing community has reacted with sadness on the death of Vincentian born, Middlesex opening batsman, Wilf Slack.
