    This image shows an aerial view of Broad Street, Bridgetown in Barbados. This main street in the capital is lined with shops and stores. It is a busy street scene with lots of people, cars and horse drawn carriages and wagons. People are dressed on the fashion of the times, men in suits and women in long dresses. Everyone wears a hat. The architectural elements of the buildings are clearly shown. The names of some the businesses on this street can be recognized ; W. L. Johnson & Co. Ltd., which has businesses on both sides of the street; J. R. Bancroft & Co. Dry Goods Department and also Collins & Co. Carlisle Pharmacy. This is a divided back postcard.     The post card depicts an aerial view of the St. Lucia Harbour. Ships of various kinds can be seen on two sides of the capital Castries. The town is built up with many buildings. In the distance, away from the wharf, there is lush vegetation dotted with buildings. In the far distance there are mountains. On the front of the postcard is written “Port Castries, 22 November 1916, Jean.” There is a small red stamp with a head of a man 1d. Joseph Le Grand, Photographer, St. Lucia. No. 5. The back reads St. Lucia (Ste. Lucie).

    Dock and Landing, Barbados

    Sail ships with tall masts and other sailing vessels line the water front of the docks in Bridgetown Barbados. The dock is busy with people. Some are well dressed in hat and suit. The panoramic scene was taken with a warehouse in the background. Written on the facing of the stationary card “Sent with five others from a friend of your father’s 29 July 1904”. On the reverse is the address of “Miss Muriel [Teirfgera?], C/o Mrs. Mc Gregor, Inverleith Terrace, Edinburgh, Scotland (Postmark 1904) and a small red one penny stamp.
