Abstract
This paper focuses on: 1) How the School of Education at Cave Hill attempted to meet some of its challenges in teacher education during the period 1966-1981 and the issues arising therefrom, and 2) some of the likely concerns and emphases in educational development in the Caribbean in the 1980s that were likely to have serious implications for teacher preparation and for the role and functions of the School.
