Music and drama as vehicles for health education
Abstract
Teaching in the hospital setting is heavily slanted towards clinical, curative, or therapeutic medicine. The compulsory, five-week Community Medicine programme offered by the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, The University of the West Indies (UWI), provides an opportunity for first-year medical students to live and work in rural communities and emphasizes communication.
