Instrument for Textbook Evaluation (Revised December 1986)

Abstract

This instrument evaluates textbooks for use in schools in Trinidad and Tobago using seven criteria: 1) content of the material; 2) language of the text; 3) sociocultural characteristics; 4) function of illustrations and pictorial material; 5) instructional characteristics; 6) assessment; and 7) quality of the editing and proofing. It also provides for basic information on the text and the overall opinion of the reviewer.
