Caribbean Women Writers' Database

Permanent URI for this collection

Caribbean Women Writers have produced and continue to create a significant body of work, which depicts experiences particular to Caribbean women as well as universal concerns. This bibliographic database contains information on the short stories of women writers from the Anglophone, Francophone and Hispanic Caribbean. The database was produced in 2003 as part of a collaborative research project between Dr Nicole Roberts and Professor Elizabeth Walcott-Hackshaw with Postgraduate Research Assistant: Nasima Akaloo. The project was financed through a Campus Research and Publication grant from the University of the West Indies. The database is now being housed on UWISpace.

The purpose of the database is to facilitate initial research into the short story production of Caribbean women writers for researchers and other scholars. Here you can get access to names of authors, titles of short narratives, dates of publication, etc. Since these are contemporary authors, their works are not reproduced here.
