2. Colombian authorities have arrested a man from the US Virgin Islands alleged to have planned Caribbean cocaine drops. James Spencer Springette was arrested in Medellin Colombia and charged with drug trafficking and money laundering. Springette faces extradition back to the US Virgin Islands. 3. A move by Caribbean countries to establish a regional justice protection programme is viewed as a priority by Trinidad and Tobago Attorney General Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj. The proposal received attention when CARICOM Attorney Generals met in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Maharaj is seeking to implement a domestic legal framework which would assist regional states in accommodating witnesses and judicial officers in the justice system.
