Abstract
This report is presented in three parts which attempt to capture the three major trusts of the conference: 1) to provide a forum for participants to discuss new ideas and research in teacher education; 2) to provide opportunities for participants to pool experiences and insights about current school-based teacher education programmes in the Eastern Caribbean, and to assess the variety of responses to the problems of teacher education in the various territories; and 3) to conduct business sessions on policy issues arising from matters related to the conduct of teachers’ college examinations, and the award of the University of the West Indies (UWI) certificates at the primary and secondary levels.
