dc.description.abstractThis paper examines four aspects of adolescence: 1) biological maturation, 2) parental roles and status, 3) preparation for one's life work, and 4) the adolescent and society. In looking at adolescents in Trinidad, it recognizes that cultural and social factors have some bearing on modifying the basic reactions of individuals. The importance of the family and the responsibility of society in minimizing the problems faced by adolescents is also stressed
