Just hours to go for a resolution to end the pay dispute between American Airlines and the company’s management, contingency plans are stepped up across the region. Next, former Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago A.N.R. Robinson is elected president of the country. Next, the forty-three Chinese migrants who were discovered in a Guyana’s registered ship off the coast of Venezuela are to be flown to Guyana from the Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. The Guyanese government has agreed to provide temporary humanitarian assistance for the Chinese nationals. Next, Head of the Caribbean Conservation Association says that there is a high level of awareness among Caricom governments of the environmental problems facing the regions. In the final segment, the Daily Mail, a British national newspaper carried front page photographs of the five men who the paper accuses of murdering black teenager, Stephen Lawrence. Some lawyers have denounced such action and are suggesting that it is a trial by media.en_US
