dc.description.abstractThe US State Department will resume funding Trinidad and Tobago's battle against drug trafficking. CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Edwin Carrington expresses grave concerns about continuing allegations of drug-related corruption in the Guyana Police Force. Long lost diaries written in 1951 by Che Guevara are to be published in the US and Britain. Commissioning Editor of Verso, Malcolm Imrie comments on some of the uncomplimentary things Guevara wrote about black people. Cuban President Fidel Castro ends a controversial four-day visit to France. The US House of Representatives began discussions on a proposal to pressure other nations to support the American embargo against Cuba. The Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku speaks on the role of Britain in the European Union and the Commonwealth after questions of British loyalties were raised.en_US
