Abstract
This volume reports on a study designed to explore the home conditions under which young children in the English-speaking Caribbean, especially the underprivileged, are nurtured. It highlights those inseparable factors of the islands that are likely to influence the living standards of each island and, consequently, the lifestyle of children. Such factors include the location of each island with respect to its relationship to other regional and international areas, the quantity and quality of available human and natural resources, the economic status of the island and its people, the educational level and health status of the population, and the delivery of early childhood education services to young children
