Abstract
For the purpose of CXC syllabuses Home Economics is defined as a systematic study of the natural and social phenomena of the home and the family and is aimed at improving the quality of life. It is primarily concerned with helping individuals to develop attitudes, values and knowledge which will enable them to make a meaningful contribution to their family life, community and work place.
