dc.description
This seminar was organized to promote greater awareness of the social significance of science, technology, and mathematics education, with special reference to the Commonwealth Caribbean. Major attention was focused on three issues: 1) alternative energy sources, 2) mathematics as a tool for community transformation, and 3) new technology and distance learning. In addition, the meeting examined ways of improving regional and Commonwealth cooperation in the teaching of science, technology, and mathematics. This report contains abridged versions of some of the papers presented at the seminar, as well as the texts of others, reports of the working groups, and the texts of addresses to the seminar
