Abstract

This study sought to obtain the views of school administrators, teachers and other educational personnel on the quality of education management and administration in Guyana. The aim was to identify areas of strength, weakness and inefficiency in the system, and to offer feedback to all stakeholders. The subject in the survey were a group of experienced school administrators and teachers who were, at the time, pursuing a course in Educational Management and Administration at the Faculty of Education, University of Guyana (UG). The survey focused on their views and opinions on effective schools in Guyana, their perception of the qualities of the successful administration, and on the implications of their comments for improving school management and administration in Guyana.
