Abstract
This paper argues the case for a preferred future for Caribbean education. It 1) examines the status quo in education and identifies counter-developmental forces; 2) considers specific assumptions about the future educational system and derives objectives and education from them; 3) list priority areas for possible renewal and reform; and 4) identifies the major dimensions of curriculum renewal—sources and motivators, scope and extent and structure.
