Abstract
This paper provides a brief overview of the technological characteristics of the Caribbean region, its existing technological activity, its technological needs, and the role that technology should play in the development of the region. It then analyses the technical input into the curriculum of Trinidad and Tobago. The paper also presents an empirical study of the attitudes of a sample of secondary school students in Trinidad who were exposed to this technical curriculum, in order to highlight one of the areas of deficiency of the existing curriculum. Some guidelines are offered for the development of a curriculum for technology education for Caribbean students
