Abstract
This report presents general background for the project, which includes (a) descriptions of the educational status of Trinidad and Grenada, (b) the Carnegie Project, (c) the evaluation of instruments and techniques, (d) the experimental and control schools. The evaluation covers three main categories 1) the school plants and programmes; 2) pupil learning in the form of knowledge and skills in language arts, social studies, mathematics, and general sciences; and 3) attitudes of pupil, teacher and principals towards the Caribbean Plan, and of teachers towards pupils and teaching as a career. A summary of the findings and the conclusions and implications of the findings are presented.
