Program Overview: Education and Human Resources Development - Latin America and the Caribbean, 1992

Abstract

This program overview introduces the education and human resource development activities carried out by the Education and Human Resource Division and the individual USAID missions in the Lain American and Caribbean (LAC) region. The Commonwealth Caribbean countries included are the countries of the Eastern Caribbean and Jamaica. The report presents: 1) overall USAID strategy for assistance in in the LAC region and brief synopses of the projects in each country; 2) USAID projects in vocational training and management education throughout the region; 3) summaries of all recent or current projects in each sub-sector with information on duration, funding levels, and activities; and 4) information on two region-wide participant training programmes—the Caribbean and Latin American Scholarship Program and the Advanced Developing Countries Training Program.
