The examination of education finance in St. Vincent and the Grenadines documents the level of government recurrent expenditure in the sector during the period 1984-1988, and relates this to total government spending and GDP indicators. It further examines average per student costs, and the relationship between enrolments and expenditure for the various levels and types of education. The analysis also identifies factors related to the cost-effectiveness of educational provision in the country, focusing on the effects on prevailing administrative, management and budgeting procedures on internal efficiency in the system. It puts forward proposals for improving efficiency.en_US
