Abstract

This study was an exploratory investigation of secondary school students' views on the use of punishment in their schools, and their ideas for improving school discipline. It was restricted to coeducational schools in the public sector. Data were collected through the use of a questionnaire, which was administered to 1,067 students from 38 classes in 15 of the 18 public coeducational secondary schools in Barbados.
