This study discusses the emergence of the technical high school within the historical development of secondary education in Jamaica, and describes its functioning within the island's educational system. It also attempts to discover the quality of response that the institution received from the students who had been exposed to it, as well as the attitudes adopted by employers towards prospective employees who had graduated from these schools
