dc.description.abstract | The concept of development that guides this paper is the simultaneous or reciprocal actualization of the capacities or potentialities of both the society and the individual through the instrument of education. The paper identifies the attributes that should be developed in an individual who is a citizen of a developing country in the process of self-actualization, as well as the characteristics of the society that should be created or enhanced in order to facilitate the development of human potential and ensure social well-being. The attributes and characteristics are used to generate some national development objectives. Curricular implications are provided. | |
