dc.description.abstract | The objectives of this core curriculum are to provide technical and vocational teachers within the Caribbean region with a recognized base qualification that reflects an appropriate level of competence in pedagogical knowledge and skill. The modules within this training course are designed to meet the pedagogical needs for the four levels of technical and vocational teachers in the Caribbean, identified as teachers of: 1) pre-vocational courses in secondary schools, 2) apprentice and vocational area courses, 3) diploma and technical level courses, and 4) degree level professional courses. The document is arranged in modular form to allow for each topic to be studied independently of others and to fill specified gaps in participants’ knowledge. Each module has a number of units that have a set of specific objectives stated in performance terms, which define the acceptable level of competence. | |
