dc.description.abstractThis paper reports on a survey of community-based literacy initiatives that was conducted in 1987 on the initiative of CUSO and with the collaboration of the National Research and Development Foundation (NRDF) and the Caribbean Regional Council for Adult Education (CARCAE). The results of the survey were updated at a workshop of the Regional Literacy Network held in Dominica in September 1989. The survey identified 46 literacy projects in the six countries covered that were either established or in the process of being set up: Belize - 6 projects; Dominica - 14 projects; St. Lucia - 10 projects, and St. Vincent - 16 projects
