Abstract

At the Second Meeting of Planning Officials of Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee (CDCC) countries, which was held in Jamaica from 29 May - 2 June, 1980, it was agreed that there was a need to "analyse the actual situation of training in planning in the Eastern Caribbean (EC) in order to outline the basic orientation for the sub-regional and national courses in the future." It was therefore proposed that a survey of training needs for planners in the EC be conducted. This report of the survey was based on the consultant's visit to the seven countries--Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts-Nevis, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines--during the period 11 March - 3 April, 1981, when meetings were held with staff of the central planning agencies, ministers responsible for those agencies, as well as with representatives of the Ministers of Finance, and of other ministers responsible for the implementation of sectoral plans and policies
