Abstract
This paper sets out guidelines for the establishment of a National Polytechnic to meet Jamaica's needs for skilled manpower at the middle and supervisory levels. The Polytechnic, which was expected to be complementary to The University of the West Indies (UWI), was expected to be comprised initially of the existing College of Arts, Science and Technology, the teachers' colleges, and the College of Agriculture
