Abstract
This study attempts to: 1) ascertain student performance in Social Studies in the fourteen plus examination administered at the end of form three students in junior secondary and composite schools, and 2) identify areas of strength and weakness in student performance and provide support to teachers. Data for the years 1983-1985 were considered. Areas of weakness are identified and suggestions are made for improvement.
