Abstract
This article examines data collected up to 1992 on male and female graduate and postgraduate geologists from The University of the West Indies (UWI). It compares the academic performances of the two sexes, their preferences, and areas of employment. Comparisons are made between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, the two countries from which most of the graduates come. Some factors that may contribute to gender-based differences in employment of geology graduates are discussed
