Abstract

This is a report on the Team Teaching Project in Barbados, a four-year experimental project, financed by the Ford Foundation. The report is divided into eight chapters: In Chapter 1, Dr. Robert H. Anderson provides the rationale for the project. In Chapter 2, Dr. Bryce Perkins identifies those changes he observed taking place in the team teaching schools, and offers recommendations on the pitfalls to be avoided in any future planning for extension of the team teaching project in Barbados. Chapter 3 is a summary of the descriptive report by Mr. V. E. Matthews, which comprises an account of the activities in the spheres of inservice training, curriculum development projects, identification of changes in the instructional programme in team teaching schools, and suggested models for the expansion of team teaching in Barbados. Chapter 4 is a tabulated comparative summary of the reports of surveys made by teams of experienced observers. Chapter 5 presents a summary of the report on evaluation activities of the project by Dr. James Maraj. Chapter 6 is a paper on the costs of team teaching in Barbados, while Chapters 7 and 8 represent an effort to provide an evaluative summary of reports on the project
