dc.description.abstractIn this report, Saint Lucia, the vacation leave of all members of the police force have been cancelled due to a nation-wide strike. President of the Civil Service Association, Mr. Martin Satney comments on the level of support received and the extent of the strike action. The Antiguan Cabinet is discussing plans to set up a special task force to deal with crimes against visitors following the attack on a British man and woman. Patricia Yates, editor of Holiday Which?, states that Caribbean destinations are still safe. UN peacekeepers rush a crowd of Haitian students on the second day of their protest over teachers' pay. Michael Norton reports on how serious the whole incident has become. A special centre is being set up in Havana for the processing of repatriated Cubans. Colonel Alberto Rebardo, who is in charge of the operations, explains the choice of the location. Cuba has offered to send doctors, teachers and sport coaches to help South Africa's reconstruction. Marvelous Marvin Hagler, former World Middleweight Champion, who will be attending the St. Lucia Jazz Festival this year, talks about his film career.en_US
