A report on the feasibility of National Literacy Programme for St. Lucia

Abstract

This report identifies the extent of illiteracy amoung the adult population, evaluates previous literacy programmes, identifies individuals and groups engaged in non-formal education, and considers the constraints attendant on the dual language situation in St Lucia. It advises on the feasibility of a literacy programme with recommendations on administration, methodology, personnel, training, materials, cost, and planning.
