dc.description.abstractThe basic purpose of the Primary Education Project (PEP) was to improve the learning environment of the primary school age group throughout the region. This evaluation describes: 1) the organization and administration of the project, 2) principal project outcomes, 3) secondary project outcomes, 4) generalized impact of project outcomes on primary education, and 5) lessons to be learned from the project. The principal outcomes of this project were the development of new or revised curriculum materials in Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science for primary school education in the English-speaking Caribbean, and the provision of inservice training of principals and teachers in the pilot schools to use the new curriculum materials
