dc.description.abstractThis paper presents the role of the technician and the need for technician training in the construction industry. Patterns of available training are outlined. It is recommended that good, correctly oriented general education for better dissemination of information on career opportunities and training available to prospective students be encouraged and improved. Problems involving staffing in the training institutes are outlined and measures to be taken to overcome these problems are proposed. The importance of training is emphasized, not only to the individual but, ultimately, to the industry and the country
