This book consists of a survey of the place of science and technology in school timetables. The survey was conducted by means of a questionnaire which was sent to all UNESCO Member States. An analysis of the survey’s results has been published under the title ‘The place of Science and Technology in School Curricula: A Global Survey’. To probe more deeply into the adequacy of science and technology curricula in meeting national needs, and into their appropriateness in relation to the rapid evolution of scientific knowledge, a series of case-studies were carried out.
