Paper presented at the International Council of Adult Education Seminar, Trinidad, 1-3 June, 1981
This paper provided an overview of the socio-economic and educational situation of women in the Caribbean, and reviewed efforts in the region to promote the integration of women in development after the World Conference on International Women's Year held in Mexico in 1975. It concluded that while positive efforts had been made to move from rhetoric to action in the Caribbean, it was still too early to assess their impact on the development of the region and on women's status
