This paper is structured in three parts: Part A gives a summary preview of the most important provisions of the law effecting the protection of children. Such overview must be general in nature and aims to familiarize the audience with a glimpse of the current scope and extent of protective legalization. Part B attempts to identify the limitations and inadequacies, as well as the strengths of existing laws. Certain specific provisions, described in Part A, shall be analysed in relation to actual needs. Part C will present proposals for change, ideas which may be considered by the conference for further discussion and, perhaps, recommendations to the various legislative authorities.en_US
