dc.description.abstract | This programme aimed to: 1) collect reliable information about initiatives that had been taken to address the problem of illiteracy in the Caribbean over the previous decade; 2) evaluate these initiatives; and 3) assess the extent to which they had been able to improve the level of literacy. The report identifies the critical issues resulting from the response to illiteracy and discusses their implications. Strategies and policies to address these issues are suggested. | en_US |
