    Reconceptualizing development: A Linkages-of-Capital Approach
    (2014-10-21) Foote, Russell
Going beyond current understandings of development, this article articulates a multidimensional approach which links countries assets and vulnerabilities to population size, incorporates gender, social class and ethnicity in this formulation and arrives at a more balanced and fairer measure of development. In so doing, the author shows where intellectual, social, emotional and cultural capitals are located. Matrices for its use at individual, household and community levels are also included. This formulation has implications for focusing and monitoring future development practices in the context of shortcoming to the current economic approaches.
