As Britain's dependent territories meeting in London approach, the most controversial issue thus far is the British directive to Caribbean dependencies to change their laws which criminalises homosexual acts. Anguillan lawyer Bernice Lake comments on the issue and states that Britain is asking for too much. The European Commission sends its recommendations to the EU Council of Ministers for a mandate to negotiate a new agreement with the ACP states.
