Anthony Butts is a self-taught artist, who was born in Georgetown, Guyana and held his first exhibition at the Exhibition Hall in Georgetown in 1977. In 1988, he exhibited with the Trinidad Art Society's National Art Exhibition, but his show entitled "Pan Explosion" will mark his first solo exhibition in Trinidad. "Pan Explosion" is an artistic perspective of the diverse moods that emanate from the steel pan.

Trinidad and Tobago in collaboration with Pan Trinbago will mount a photographic exhibition "The Evolution of The Steelpan" at the Central Bank foyer, Independence Square, Port of Spain. The display opened by Keith Diaz, president, Pan Trinbago and Fitzroy-Henry, interim president of the guild. Photographs and artifacts showing the various stages of the development of the national musical instrument will be on display.
