Panorama 1978 got off to a slow uninspiring start and was dragging along to finish sometime before dawn. People in the crowd were grumbling that this year's competition was, without a doubt, the 'most boring' and 'worst disaster' they have ever witnessed. Panmen blamed the Carnival Development Committee (CDC) for mishandling a job that should have been undertaken by Pan Trinbago.

The big Panorama show has run into another snag as organisers were unable to come up with a panel of judges. The date itself is posing a problem to finding a panel of judges.
