Abstract
This article seeks to respond to the society's questions about the role of education in addressing the various social and cultural ills being manifested. However, it cautions that before rushing to establish a new educational agenda, there is need to identify the areas in which the greatest efforts should be directed, and which strategies might have the best long-term effects
