Abstract
In this article Senator Ronald Williams, chairman of the Carnival Development Committee, explains how the concept of Panorama came about since earlier Carnival competitions had become unmanageable. Williams was proud to be recorded as having chosen the name "Panorama" and started the national contest with bands from all over the country. Today Panorama is as well known as Dimanche Gras and J'ouvert morning.
