Abstract
On the left of this photograph one can see gentlemen in jackets and hats looking on as blue collar workers dig and load pitch onto railroad carts and trolleys at the Pitch Lake in La Brea. This pitch will later be loaded on to ships via an aerial tramway at Brighton Pier and exported afar. The postcard also has hand-written correspondence.
