dc.description.abstractThe postcard shows a Devil's Ear (Elephant Ear) tree locate at a Savannah in Trinidad. Devil's Ear is the common name of the tree Enterolobium cyclocarpum. "The tree derives its name from the curious shape of the large, flatish, crinkly, mahogany brown fruits (4-5 inches across) which bear a resemblance to a human earlobe" and because of its enourmous size it is provides a nesting place for animals (Aitken).en
