dc.description.abstractLinton Gibbon, who was born in Trinidad in 1888 of Irish descent, was the son of a senior Immigration official. He worked on Nelson Island cooking for East .Indian indentured immigrants. He made a voyage to India between 1902-1904 on a sailing ship with a group of repatriating Indians. This interview, conducted by his grand-daughter, is partly transcribed and analysed in the following paper; Marianne Soares Ramesar: “A Passage to India with Repatriating Immigrants."
