Abstract
This phenomenological study investigated and analysed nine students’ perceptions of Caribbean History as a subject area at a secondary school in the St. George East Educational District of Trinidad and Tobago. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. Analysis of the data produced eight main themes: 1) personal interest, 2) appreciation, 3) career path, 4) subject content, 5) family influence, 6) resources, 7) teaching influences/strategies, and 8) peer influence.
