Abstract
Albert Maria Gomes was a journalist and politician who received his early education at Pamphylian High School and later studied at New York University. He entered politics by way of the trade unions and the Port of Spain Council in Trinidad. He was Minster of Labour, Industry and Commerce from 1950-1956, during that period he led many delegations and conferences abroad.
