A photograph of the Immortelle trees in bloom with their vermillion flowers, on the paved, Maracas Road, Trinidad, W.I. Immortelle trees flower early in the year and are widely used as shade for cocoa in hilly areas. They are deciduous trees which can grow up to 25 m. In the photograph they stand tall and straight on the left of the roadside. Also on the road side is a light blue Zephr automobile with the taxi licence plate number HE3142, facing south-west. The male driver of the taxi, who appears to be heavyset, is wearing a pair of brown pants, a white shirt, a light coloured cap. He is perched at the right front seat of the car, where the door is ajar. The background of the photograph is thickly wooded. Postcard number 35041.en
